Why I Started The Prepared School Psych Podcast: Building Community, One Episode at a Time

by | Jan 30, 2024 | Community | 0 comments

I am thrilled to share some exciting news with you! I’ve started something new —a podcast named “The Prepared School Psych Podcast,” and it officially dropped this week!

Like many of you, I love the field of school psychology because I love the impact on students. Growing up, I loved going to school and felt like it was a place where I shined. But I know many of our students don’t have the same experience.  I love that school psychologists get to devote their time and energy to helping students and their families have a more successful experience with school.

I work hard to create trainings and resources that are practical for school psychs so that, in turn, they can support students in the best way possible. Being able to bring guests onto my podcast with a range of experiences who can also bring practical tips is another reason why I started this podcast. So many of us feel isolated at our schools, and I wanted the opportunity to help build more community among everyone in this amazing field.

When school psychologists feel supported, it benefits the students, staff, and families they work with. I hope you’re as excited as I am! If you want to watch a replay of the live recording of my podcast launch party, please click HERE.
