Is This Right For You?
This is for you if:
You are unclear about the use of the term "dyslexia" in the educational setting and you want to feel confident in the evaluation process and at the IEP meeting
This is NOT for you if:
You already know about the term dyslexia and your role in the process within the school setting.
What People Are Saying
The links to the videos were SUPER helpful - I struggle with communicating with teachers and admins as much or more as I do with parents about dyslexia and what would be "value added" by doing a separate assessment or reevaluation just for dyslexia.
I really enjoyed the video links - I would like to share these with school teams during PD and during beginning of the year planning meetings so we can be prepared to answer questions about dylsexia at meetings with parents throughout the year. Also the school self assessment for reading programs in each area is super helpful, and will allow schools to respond to requests for specialized services with programs that are already in place to teach each area.
It is very important to understand how reading is being taught in the classroom and the students exposure to print and phonemic awareness instruction.
